Public Affairs Lead, Nordics

To our long-time client Chiesi we are now recruiting to the new position as Public Affairs Lead, Nordics.
 

Description:
The Public Affairs Lead role is a significant part of the Nordic team driving the Chiesi business in the Nordics through interaction and collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
The Public Affairs Lead will develop and implement strategies to influence policy and regulatory environments across the Nordic countries, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and monitor policy developments. In addition, the Public Affairs lead will also represent the company in select forums, collaborate with internal teams, prepare impactful advocacy materials, and manage external consultants to ensure effective execution of public affairs initiatives.
The Public Affairs Lead will work in close collaboration with the General Manager, Value and Access Director, Global Public Affairs team, Nordic Access team including External Communications Lead, Nordic Commercial and Medical Affairs teams, the Nordic Pharmaceutical Affairs team, and Legal and Compliance team to successfully develop, implement, and execute the Nordic Public Affairs plan.

Responsibilities:
The main responsibility of this position is to LEAD the Nordic public affairs activities to enable success to Chiesi to reach our set goals in the Nordic region. 
The role includes the following key responsibilites:

  • Develop and implement public affairs strategies and tactics to select policy, legislative, and regulatory environments in the Nordic countries
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, industry associations, and patient advocacy groups
  • Represent the company in select forums, conferences, and meetings with key internal and external stakeholder
  • Collaborate with Chiesi Nordic & Global teams, including business units, market access, communications, and regulatory affairs, Global Public Affairs to align public affairs activities with business goals
  • Manage external consultants and agencies to ensure effective execution of public affairs initiative
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop effective advocacy strategies

Required skills and competencies:

  • Excellent understanding of the environment in which Chiesi operate
  • Self-starting and proactive, ability to assimilate and digest multiple, complex information
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, communications & project management skills

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in public policy, Political Science, Communications, Business and Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
  • Fluency in at least one Nordic language (Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, or Finnish) and English
  • In depth knowledge of Nordic Health Care system and the policies that influence decisions within the system
    • Excellent knowledge of the Nordic pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience: 7-10 year from the Nordic pharmaceutical industry, governmental bodies, health care sector, or equivalent, with previous Public Affairs experience, including interaction with key Nordic stakeholders relevant to public affairs
  • Excellent project management and analytical skills
  • Proven ability of cross-functional internal and external collaboration
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel across the Nordic countries. We welcome applicants from all Nordic countries
